He was oppressed and treated harshly,
yet he never said a word.
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.
And as a sheep is silent before the shearers,
he did not open his mouth. - Isaiah - 700 B.C.E.
As we walk with Christ to the cross, we will continue to see the extraordinary character of our Lord. There is such a regal majesty in his character. It’s no wonder - when he is lifted up - that the world is drawn to him. This week we’re looking at his incredible restraint as he walks into a lion’s den of angry men.
Can all of us learn and grow from imitating such self-control?
My Father is always working, and so am I - Jesus (John 5:17)
God at work
God continues to work and move in vivid ways at Forum:
This week someone from a Muslim background is calling on the name of Jesus as Lord and accepting Him as savior. This person is learning and growing and planning to be baptized in the near future. The Lord is working!
Our announcement Sunday connected to the Easter Offering going towards the expansion of Campus House was met with great encouragement. I met with a couple from NW Missouri who was visiting saying they will take the need and the mission behind the project back to their church.
We will be expanding in the near future in the children’s area. We’ll be knocking out a wall and combining a storage area and an office and convert it into a new classroom.
From an administrative standpoint:
We are changing our online giving platform as well as moving to a new church database. The later will help our check in process to move faster as well as helping all of us as a ministry to better connect to groups and one another. Be watching for information as we roll these things out. The online giving element is already live.
We are having a workday this Saturday morning starting at 8 a.m. Most of it will be light outdoor type of work. Thanks in advance to those of you who can donate your time.
Sunday is “time change Sunday.” Spring forward!
